FULL BOARD
Each horse has a designated stall in one of the two barns. We use
StreuFex pelletized compressed straw bedding. It is environmentally friendly and produces very little dust for the horses to breathe.
Horses are turned out in same-gender pastures full-time and brought in twice daily at feeding time.
During the summer when temperatures are extreme the horses may stay in under fans if the barns are less humid than outside. Some times it will be more comfortable outside with a breeze than in a stall with fans.
All pastures, except one, have shelters with box fans. The pasture without a run-in or electricity for fans has four mature oak trees which provide plentiful shade.
-Water troughs are cleaned regularly
-Pastures are cleaned daily
-Stalls are cleaned periodically throughout the day
-Week-long sand purge is administered monthly
Hay: Timothy/Alfalfa
Grain: Premium grains by Seminole and Banks Mill
Grain allowance is 1 scoop/3 quarts twice daily. If your horse needs more per meal there will be an additional cost which is based on the current price per bag of that particular grain.
All horses must be on a daily feed-thru wormer and paste-wormed with a broad-spectrum wormer twice yearly. Daily wormer can either be provided by horse owner or supplied by WSS at additional charge.
We will blanket, fly spray and fly mask your horse at no additional charge but you must provide those items.
All horses must provide current vaccination record, negative Coggins and receive a Strangles vaccine prior to boarding.
PASTURE BOARD
We have one pasture devoted to a small number of pasture boarders. Pasture boarders live in turnout 24/7 and are fed outside.
Pasture horses receive the same grain as full-boarders and approximately 20lbs each of Coastal Bermuda hay daily.
Pasture boarders also receive monthly sand purge and are required to be on the same daily feed-thru wormer program as all other horses.
WSS staff will fly spray your pasture horse but will not blanket. You are welcome to dress & undress your horse on your own though.
Pasture horse boarders have the same facilities use rights as full boarders.
All horses must provide current vaccination record, negative Coggins and
receive a Strangles vaccine prior to boarding.
